Who is Don Mancini?

He is a very prolific writer since he wrote all of the scripts for the movies in which Chucky appears, from Child’s Play in 1988 to the TV Series Chucky, aired in 2021.

He started to work on horror from a very young age when he discovered The Twilight Zone and became obsessed with it. In fact, it is in that series that he got the idea to create a killer doll. Wanting to become a writer and director he became a film student in UCLA in the mid-1980s.

When he finished studying he didn’t begin working as a film creator right away, he had to work in his father’s advertising company for a while and that helped him develop a lot of ideas for his first film Child’s Play (1988), in which advertisement and consumerism has a big role.

He never stopped working from then on and in 2007 he won the EyeGore award for his career and his contributions to the horror genre. Nowadays he is still writing new scripts for his favourite doll Chucky, and working on the second season of his TV series.
