The murdered who possesses the doll Chucky is called Charles Lee Ray in the movies. That name was created from the name of real life serial killers: Charles Manson, Lee Harvey Oswald (alleged murderer of John F. Kennedy) and James Earl Ray (murderer of Martin Luther King).

Chucky is so famous now that has appeared on a lot of other media. Some examples are Saturday Night Live or The Simpsons. In the latter he has appeared several times but there are also a lot of references to the doll.
